Favorite 80's Funk / Boogie Joints

Following on from the recent 'RnB' threads what's some of your favourite 80's Funk / Boogie tracks?

I am a sucker for this stuff. While a lot of people dismiss it but I would much rather hear some squelchy synth and talk box than a boring 'Deep Funk' 45 any day of the week.

Really been getting into it more and more over the past 2-3 years. I find that the sound of it really takes me back to the time/era mentally. Triggers a lot of old memories. Really enjoyable.

Hoping more people drop contributions in here so I can check out more tunes. I recently found a high quality and complete version of "Hold On" by Keta Bill. It's the song that plays during the Playboy Mansion scene in Beverly Hills Cop II. There's a terrible version by Corey Hart on the soundtrack. Keta's version is vastly superior. She has a great 80s boogie sound. Produced by Harold Faltermeyer.

Also, do a Google Video search for Home Boy & The C.O.L.

    Lots of quality boogie.

All this genre defining, liking this & not that is bullshit. It's simple, good music/bad music. Genres are for sales clerks... Divide & conquer. Bob why the polemics all the time?

I only have the LP and it's got an annoying pop on that tune, never seen a 12".

@ J$, I think the Goldie Alexander I posted is a Toronto artist and is quite a tough find as well. If you find copies hit me up!

Woah, checking some of this now. Very nice. None for sale on Discogs so this must be French Boogie Mafia rarity territory!

Hopefully PPU or someone will reissue it.
