    AMSTERDAM recommendations

I'm off to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks. Never been & was wondering if any of you kind folk had any recommendations for food (cake) (beer) & record spots?

    thanks!

For records take the free ferry to Amsterdam Noord, it's behind the central station.

There you will find the Europe's biggest flea market and a cool view back over to the City.

Essential food in Amsterdam is an Indonesian Rice Table as Dutch Food is rank. (horrible stodgy Corn Dogs from a vending machine)

Just look up Trip Advisor for the best in your area.

This place needs to be booked we tried it but the line was about a mile up the street.

I went here and it was delicious.

if you want great indo food at resonable price i recommend my local spot, Manis, its more a take away joint but they have 2 window seats. ill post some more when i get gome from the office

so here is your food guide https://en.iens.nl/restaurant/amsterdam/indonesisch (language button on the lower right corner), i dialed you in on indo but the site is self explanatory.

For records definately RushHour (theyre moving up the road in a couple of months) and WaxWell. Then there is Velvet, Concerto, RecordFriend and of course some charity shops and the likes, BobDisasters tip of Ijhallen is a pretty good one, ie freeboat trip and exploring the non tourist trails.

Coffeeshop wise you cant go wrong with Greenhouse or Kadinsky or Tweede Kamer. If you want to explore the west side of town try Boerenjongens or Bullwackie. Ive never been there but hear theyre good on quality/price.
