I mistook a hash bar for a restaurant and asked 'Is the kitchen still open?'

Great city. Most of the downtown is a charming bohemean area of canals and old warehouses

jokes aside, it is a beautiful city, lovely if you want to go for a wander and see more than just the main tourist sites

Right across the street from "Demonfuzz" is the secondhand recordshop "De plaatboef".

The Binnenweg is a nice street for record shopping, that's for sure.

Word! There was another shop further down in the side street. It closed 2 or 3 years ago. Back in the day there were at least 5 shops at the Binnenweg where you could spend your whole day shopping for records.

Thanks for all the tips & hints peeps.

Had a great time, Amsterdam is awesome. Ate like a king, the Okonomiyaki at Japanese pancake world (don't be fooled by the name) was boss. Friendly staff, beer was bottled & over priced (4.95 for a Asahi 300ml) but food was great. Talked Japanese food styles with the chef, as he cooked our food. Def recommend.

Burgermeester does a mean veggie burger & smoothie. (we are vegetarian)
Lanskroon Cafe does a sublime Stroopwafel
Loved the amount of juice bars & cycling round the city was hilarious.
Record shop wise, disappointingly overpriced. 4-5 records, selling for 10-15 euro is jokes.
Some nice selections and clean shops. That's one of the things I liked about Amsterdam so much, the architecture/style and cleanliness of everything (once you get out the mank chav spots)

Even snowed on our first day, but then was glorious warm sunshine 30 mins later. Can't wait to go back

Only found one arcade and retro game shop. Got on the high scores on Metal slug & game shop (Game Over) was insanely optomistic with pricing! 50+ for a 10 game. F*ck off.
