    What to sample to make jazzy beats kindda Godfather Don???

    Sup fam, I ve been trying to get that kind of jazzy beats we all love in my sp1200. I dunnot what to sample since I've tried all kind of records and genres.. Jazz, soul, funk......
    Maybe im missing some technique or something?

    I don't know dude. The 50-70's jazz/funk has been sampled to death. How about sampling something new? Like Menahan Street Band, or El Michels Affair? That would be awesome and I don't think there's much sampling going on from this era!

    I think your best bet is to hit the shops and listen to as many records as you can, the same way Godfather Don would have done

    Dig, dig & dig again. Try new techniques, learn, study & evolve. There are no short cuts & why would you want to take any?
