    tech question

I've used Sony acid pro 6 for years and recently been offered an mpd24 for 30. Is it compatible? Do i need it?. I'm pretty clueless but tempted because it's cheap.

Quick google search said 'not really'

Akai MPC software is pretty straight forward.
Saying that, I don't really know how to do anything on it, apart from loading sampled onto pads.
Been meaning to learn for over a year, as I have an MPC studio.

    As seen here:

...the mpd24 is only a controller...you can midi-map everything to the pads or knobs or faders...acid pro is an audio tool afaik so it's not the most logical combination with the mpd24...normally you'd have a daw like ableton live or logic and map the different drum tracks or samples to the pads so that it's like playing a mpc...

Sorry that's the only time I can throw that rap quote into conversation. I saw the opportunity and I jumped.

I also use Sony Acid Pro. Very versatile, I really like it.

Thanks for the info guys, I pulled the trigger and now realise why it was palmed off. There’s no firmware. Seems pretty useless.....back to good old acid pro.
