    Isley Brothers Appreciation

I recently grabbed this compilation from the charity shop and only got round to spinning it today.

    https://www.discogs.com/The-Isley-Br.../master/192954

It's a load of tracks from the first five T Neck LP's from 1969 to 1972 and damn son I forget how good they are sometimes.

They have Funk jams, breaks and samples yo, slow soul burners, amazing Rock cover versions and shredding guitar solos all with Ron Isley's incredible voice.

Basically if you ever see any of those LP's buy them, I only have It's Our Thing but think I need to remedy that.

That doesn't even mention the amazing straight Detroit Soul and Northern stuff they were doing since the 50's on Wand and Motown and then the incredible Funk / Rock / Pop / Disco hybrid they became from 3 plus 3.

Not sure there is a better more consistent band in History.

    Rep your favorite Isley jamz.

Ernie shredding Hendrix. Hendrix played with the Isley brothers before he moved to England.

I got one of those original album collection CD box sets for a pittance with 5 or so albums. All good, I think I lean towards the earlier blues-ier sound

I love it. If I'm in the car when Summer Breeze comes one and I'm on my own I hit the falsetto hard.

Was playing The Wanderers OST in the pub a while back and when Shout came on the pub's token bookie bloke was like "it's the Izley Brothers!" Made me laugh anyway.

Prefer the 70's version of Who's That Lady?, meself - that guitar solo breakdown/bridge is insanity.

Oh totally, the 70's version shreds just thought peoples might not know it was a remake.

All the big hits are killer.
