What's your opinion on beats producer Nick Wiz?

Last night I was reading a book while listening to producer Nick Wiz instrumentals. I found his instrumentals very good, consistent but not on par with top 20 mid 90's east coast producers. But I think he might be one the best underground/less known producer that put out enough material across is No Sleep/GRR compilations to be properly judge. I was surprised that he produced HDM-Real MCs, one of my favorite indie track.

I'm definitely fan of the man's work. Especially on the Cellar Selections compilations there are a lot of gems to be found. Having said that it's mainly the pre-96 stuff that does the trick for me. After that I feel a lot of his beats sound a bit repetitive. But he's a dope producer, no doubt.

Some ok beats but not someone I consider up there with the best of the era. Maybe 3rd or 4th tier?

    Def slept on.
Not everything is golden, but some real gems to be heard.
Even the GOATS made some dull beats.

Cella Dwellas 'We Got It Hemmed' is an amazing beat

speaking of Nick Wiz, he finally dropped that Sinistar Voicez "Do Or Die" track officially on the digital Shabaam Sahdeeq LP. I really hope that gets the vinyl treatment somehow, it's been on my Youtube playlist for ages

I didn't like Shabaam Shadeeq sound direction between 2001-2008. Afterward, he had decent songs here and there. He should put out a 90s only LP with all the songs he had with Nick Wiz and Shadowz in the Dark.

Yes dig him. As with all producers not every track is a heater but I'd say not at the forefront of producers i'd think of. Can't criticize as not all of us can be Premo or Pete Rock in their heyday.
