Helping out my old record dealer boss as he tries to get his 600,000 strong record collection into a big shop and into the hands of an increasingly disinterested record buying public.

Big fan of the DWG releases, but only seldom get to rip a set of that sort of stuff these days.

I own both a Pioneer S9 and a reconditioned original Urei 1620, which hopefully gives you an idea of what kind of music i buy.

Yeah, i still pop up there and play. The last Hip Hop related thing i did was supporting 67 with the Ransom Crew, which i am gonna guess would get a pretty short shrift on here. I accidentally played a jazz record as they walked on stage, which created a very odd scene that i really hope somebody caught on camera.

It was in Glasgow, the crowd all looked like they were 15, and having a better time than i can remember having at a Hip Hop gig in a long while.

There were some 40 something dudes on their own standing at the back, taking in the scene and probably wishing they hadn't clicked on that Guardian article about how this band were an important part of modern youth culture.

I also wasn't aware of this new trend for youths to be wearing stab proof vests as fashion now, but i have been assured it is an actual thing.

I did another gig the following night at another venue with some rappers and there was some palaver with one of the acts trying to steal from the promoter and some shit nearly going down. I felt very out of my comfort zone i have to admit, but i reckon it must be all very exciting for the youts.

LOL you supported that Brixton Drill group?

    Did you chat to them?

I lived in Brixton Hill in late 90's for 2 years and while it could be a bit wild it certainly wasn't like the South Side Of Chicago.

Brixton itself is so gentrified its hard to take this stuff seriously despite the tabloids making it sound like a war zone in London.

Maybe I should've asked for a stab proof vest for Xmas to stay down with the kids?.
