I'll always be thankful to Area for making me hunt down a copy of New Rap Language back in the 90's, thus putting me onto my favourite double-sided Rap 12" of all time.
I REALLY wish they'd done a full song over the Buhloone intro. That Outlaw Blues Band sample is so damn fonky.
Canibus ft. Rakim - I'll Buss 'Em, U Punish 'Em (O.G mix) (1999)
* This 12" is the only Canibus record I own, and possibly the only Canibus record worth owning?
* Canibus was so cursed that even his song with Rakim got fucked up by sample clearance and replaced with a corny keyboard beat.
* "Canibus practices in a room with 1000 candles lit, meditating on this rap shit" is a lyric which makes me simultaneously chuckle and clap
* I think this song was the first time I ever heard Rakim swear on wax.
