Can we please bring down the fashionable "shouty chrorus" hate a notch? So many classic good songs with so-called shouty choruses: Who got the props, Punks jump up to get beat down, How about some hardcore, Sound of da police etc. etc. Just sayin.

The shouty choruses can get overbearing when you listen to 25 of them straight. But a li'l MOP: How About Some Hardcore or Ready Ta Roll: Tha Real Hip Hop works fine for me in any mix!

I don't mind a shouty chorus...helps sum up that classic mid 90's sound...but i know i will proberly get hated on for saying this but MOP really don't do it for me...far too much shouting from start to finish for my ears to take!

Ok most of thier beats rock (mainly due to premo on the boards) but i can only handle one or two tracks at a time once they start rhymin!

Was never a great fan of the shouty/chanting chorus bit it did add something different in that 92-95 era, sometimes its a mark of an MC not to go down that route at that time and be assured in their own lyrical style.

I do love the raw shit but MOP don't do it for me yes they have had dope hard productions, but they just grate on the brain!

Voted 89-95 but it's most likely to be 1986-1996

86 to 97...alot of good stuff released after that but it peaked in 97...86 is the blueprint.

    I voted 1989-1995.

To me, the Golden Era was 1988-1994 and my favorite time period was 1988-1996 which is when I was 14-22 years old. As for my favorite year in Hiphop? Its a tough call between 1988, 1992, 1993 or 1994.

And I can't believe someone actually voted for 2000-current. haha
